To solve traffic woes, should govt make Driving lessons/Tests compulsory in School/Colleges.

Imagine INDIA our country having no traffic problems, every one driving in their lanes, no horns, no desperation to show I rule the road, sounds good but a distant dream. How does our country meet the challenging vows of ever increasing traffic with it's exhausted infrastructure?. As more of us are taking to flying abroad so are our aspirations to live in dream land, can we dare turn our dreams into realty?. I wonder by making schools responsible to teach our new generation this essential discipline may solve the daunting task we all face. Surely, govt should be able to pass this responsibility on to our schools, who are grass roots from where the discipline emanates in first place.

It is high time when we all should ponder on this escalating problem. One does feel exasperated to see children in their infancy whizzing past you driving cars, scooters at lightning speed and haphazard parking raising your blood pressure. If only one can tame their speed by not putting a speed breaker, but by driving licence and passing the test at the age of 17. It is the sense of urgency and accountability to other road users which has to dawn on their shoulders. One alternative is to attach recognised govt driving school with a trained instructor attached to each school. Then it might not have to contest the public view of legitimacy.

We need to stop this ever worsening situation from exacerbating further. Our politician's pure will, will be tested to curb the menace, along with power & water shortages which we face shall only germinate discontent & dis-harmony.

I am sure our politician shall be able to come over logistics hic-ups, as they profess they know what they are doing. As world has become more globalised, and Indian middle class of 240 million has grown to the size of entire US population, India has become world of oyster for car industry. Govt has to accept the gauntlet and put a stop to citizen's becoming licence owner's through fast track of bribery. Only if all this can be achieved without any opposition from schools and our charismatic politicians.

I think we should put more thoughts into how this shall function, and explore other ideas, till then we should brace up and take our dreams to our graves.
